What is the full title of the 'Community Foundation'?
Stockport County Community Sports and Education Foundation.
What status does the Project operate under?
The Foundation is a registered charity, number 1125117
Who governs the Foundation?
The charity is made up of four internal (Stockport County FC) and three external
bodies who make up the trustees of the charity.
We also have a partner in The Football League Community Trust, who provide us
with Funding and Technical support.
How long has the Project existed?
Since 1992, under the banner of 'Football in the Community' the national
programme covering all 92 Professional Football Clubs, which sadly ceased to
exist in November 2007.
How is the Project funded?
We are self- funded, and not reliant on the Football Club supporting it
financially. We have our own Constitution, Management Structure, Bank Account
etc. We raise our funds through After School Sessions, Soccer Courses, Skills
Challenge events and various other activities.
The Football League Trust also support us, and other clubs, via central funding.
We can also access various funding pots via the Football Foundation, Big Lottery
Fund, Sportsmatch and sponsors.
Who Sponsors the Foundation?
We have a national kit sponsor, Puma UK, who provide the majority of clubs with
uniform, balls and bibs. Stockport County Club Sponsors, A. G. Parfett & Sons
sponsor our After School Sessions.
What External Partners do you work with?
We carry out work in conjunction with various partners such as Greater
Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Stockport MBC,
Cheshire Football Association, The Football Association, Stockport Youth
Service, Connexions and various local charities.
What area does the Foundation cover?
We carry out grassroots football activities in Stockport, High Peak, Tameside
and North Cheshire.
