Stockport County Football Club - Community Foundation hold Soccer Courses each
and every school holiday, in and around the Stockport area.
Our courses have been awarded the prestigious "FA Charter Standard" award for
our high quality Soccer Course provision.
All courses are open to boys and girls, aged from 5 to 14 years old, of all
abilities, and are designed to give the participants a better understanding of
the game of football in a safe, friendly, fun and entertaining environment.
Rocket from Soccer AM paid a visit to a recent Soccer Course to do a 'Skills School' with the Stockport County Youth Team Players.
Courses run from 10am to 12noon for the 5 & 7 year olds, with 8 to 14 year olds
attending from 10am to 3pm each day.
Subject to numbers attending, the last day of the course is reserved for a
"World Cup" style tournament.
Stockport County Football Club players attend each course on the last day to
present Trophies & Certificates, answer questions, pose for photos and sign
autographs.
There are trophies to be won in each group, such as "Penalty Shoot-Out Winner",
"Skills Challenge Winner", "Sports person of the Week" and a special trophy,
which is chosen by all the players in the group, "Player"s Player of the Week".

Application forms are distributed to schools around the course venue, and are
also available from Edgeley Park, in the Club Shop, Reception or from the
Community Office.
The Community Foundation also run "Sporting Tots" courses at selected venues,
aimed at 3-5 year old boys and girls, with the focus being on balance,
co-ordination, agility, flexibility and to improve confidence.
"Advanced Courses" are also available at selected times throughout the year, for
boys and girls aged 11-16 years old. These courses are held for talent ID for
our Centre of Excellence, with Centre of Excellence staff leading the sessions
throughout the week.
